Enhance Delaware Valley Hospital Fund
Investing today for a healthier tomorrow.
For 75 years, UHS Delaware Valley Hospital has stood as a cornerstone of health and healing for the people of Walton, New York and the surrounding region. Today, as healthcare needs evolve and our community looks toward the future, UHS Delaware Valley Hospital is embarking on its most ambitious project yet: the creation of a state-of-the-art, four-story Medical Neighborhood.
This $80 million expansion is designed to transform care delivery in our region by bringing advanced services, modern technology, and a patient-centered environment together under one roof. The Medical Neighborhood will include:
- A new Medical Unit with 25 private rooms with full ensuite bathrooms
- Primary Care and Specialty Services with 12 additional exam rooms
- An expanded Physical and Occupational Therapy facility that will include a skills lab complete with a model apartment and vehicle
- An updated and expanded laboratory
- A simulation lab
- Collaborative Community space
This expansion is more than a building project; it is an investment in people, in progress and in the promise that future generations will be able to receive the highest quality of care – right here at home.
Philanthropy, alongside public funding and investment by UHS Delaware Valley Hospital, will play a critical role in turning this vision into reality. With a goal of raising $3 million in community support, the Enhance Delaware Valley Hospital capital campaign invites every resident, business, and friend of the hospital to share in building a healthier tomorrow.
Vision Statement
Our vision is to create a Medical Neighborhood that serves as the heartbeat of our community – where advanced technology meets compassionate care, where providers collaborate seamlessly, and where patients and families feel supported close to home.
Delaware Valley Hospital is a hub of wellness, education, and innovation – an environment that grows with our community’s needs and strengthens our rural way of life. The DVH Medical Neighborhood will ensure that every patient has access to modern, comprehensive healthcare without traveling long distances.
Together, we will build more than a facility.
We will build a healthier future, a stronger community, and a lasting legacy for Delaware County for generations to come.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will there be an adequate number of parking spaces?
The hospital purchased an adjacent property, which will become parking prior to construction of the new building and the current Primary Care building will be razed to create additional parking.
What will happen to the current Primary Care and Physical Therapy buildings when those services are moved into the new facility?
The Primary Care building will be razed to create additional parking. The Physical Therapy building will be modified to accommodate a larger Community Pharmacy with drive-thru service.

When will the building be completed?
Anticipated completion is in the Fall of 2027.
Will the facility create new jobs?
Yes, there will be some additional employment opportunities particularly for Environmental and Housekeeping services.
Will there be maternity services? What specialty services will be added?
Maternity services require an anesthesiologist to be available 24/7 which makes that service cost prohibitive due to the low volume. The additional space will allow current specialties to be offered more frequently and creates the opportunity to offer additional services.
How much will the project cost and how will it be funded?
The entire cost of the project is approximately $80 million. The hospital received a $20 million grant from New York State and will finance approximately $450 million. The remaining balance will be paid by the hospital’s cash reserves and a rigorous fundraising campaign.
