UHS Delaware Valley Hospital (DVH) officially marked a significant milestone in its ongoing Medical Neighborhood project with the ceremonial start of demolition on the former Addiction Treatment Program (ATP) wing on Wednesday, May 20.
Hospital leadership and project partners gathered on-site as the first “ceremonious dig” took place, signaling the beginning of the next phase in DVH’s transformation to expand and modernize care for the community.
Adding a special touch to the day, Leo, a local third-grade student, was on hand to witness the historic moment and documented the event on video, symbolizing the connection between the hospital’s long-term vision and the next generation it serves.
“This is more than the start of demolition - it’s the beginning of something new for our patients and our community,” said Rolland “Boomer” Bojo, DVH President and CEO. “To have Leo here capturing this moment reminds us exactly why this work matters. This is our future - this is who we are doing this for.”
The demolition is a key step in advancing the Medical Neighborhood initiative, a multi-phase project designed to improve access, enhance patient experience, and expand services for residents of Delaware County and surrounding communities.
