UHS celebrates EMS Week with appreciation lunch honoring local EMS

May 22, 2025

In celebration of National EMS Week, held from May 18-24, UHS proudly honored the dedication and service of local emergency medical services (EMS) professionals with a special appreciation lunch held on Wednesday, May 21, at UHS Wilson Medical Center.

The event brought together EMS crews from across the region, offering them a chance to relax, enjoy a delicious meal, and connect with colleagues and healthcare partners. Laughter and conversation filled the room as UHS staff and leadership expressed their gratitude to the first responders who serve on the front lines of emergency care every day.

At UHS, we are incredibly grateful for the tireless work EMS professionals do 24/7 to care for our communities. This week—and every week—we want them to know how much they’re valued as an essential part of the healthcare system.

EMS Week, celebrated nationwide during the third week of May, recognizes the critical role paramedics, EMTs, and other pre-hospital care providers play in saving lives and supporting public health.

At UHS, that dedication is met with heartfelt appreciation. EMS is often the first point of contact for patients in crisis.  Their expertise and quick action make a huge difference in outcomes, and it’s an honor for our staff to work alongside them.

UHS extends a sincere thank you to all EMS professionals for their unwavering commitment and compassion. Happy EMS Week!2025 EMS Week Luncheon
