Team UHS came out this past Sunday to support Broome Oncology's Sock Out Cancer 5k at Otsiningo Park in Binghamton!
UHS was the Flagship Sponsor at this year's event and even with the rainy weather, over 400 runners and walkers came together to help raise funding to support Sock Out Cancer's mission of providing local cancer patients and their families with non-medical needs like transportation, utilities and housing.
Proceeds from the event go to Sock Out Cancer and get divided between the local hospital foundations. Since its inception, Sock Out Cancer, through the UHS Foundation, has financially assisted over 850 UHS cancer patients. Thanks to special events like this, the UHS Foundation can continue to provide support for patients who trust us with their care.
