UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital is kicking off the new year by continuing its popular “Her Health Matters: Conversations on Women’s Health” series. This month’s topic is Nutrition and Metabolism and how they impact overall wellness.
The discussion will be led by Andrea Bryan, MS, RD, CSOWM, CDN, a clinical dietitian with expertise in helping people make sense of food, health, and lifestyle choices. The event is set for Wednesday, January 21, at the Canasawacta Country Club, 261 County Road 44, Norwich, NY. The program will begin at 6 p.m with social time and the opportunity to order from the menu and bar. The presentation and discussion will follow at 7 p.m.
According to Bryan, understanding metabolism is key, especially for women.
“Understanding metabolism, how it works, especially as we age and all the outside influences that impact it is vital,” she said. “Metabolism for women is especially important throughout the lifecycle as it changes drastically during pregnancy, perimenopause and menopause.”
Bryan said she hopes the session will provide clarity and confidence for those feeling stuck or frustrated.
“I look forward to educating anyone who is feeling stuck or frustrated on new ideas and ways to address these issues,” Bryan explained. “I love to present evidence-based research to dispel any myths or popular trends that are secretly harmful.”
Her ultimate goal? To leave attendees feeling empowered.
“I would love for anyone who is attending to leave this presentation feeling hopeful and add new skills to their toolbox on their journey of health,” Bryan added.
The series is designed to create a comfortable space for women to talk about health topics that often feel off-limits. Attendees can share questions and ideas with peers and professionals in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
