Get to know your UHS Hand Therapists

June 05, 2023

Hand Therapy Week is held the first full week of June. Hand therapists are occupational or physical therapist who, through advanced continuing education, clinical experience and integration of  knowledge in anatomy, physiology and kinesiology, has become proficient in treatment of pathological upper extremity (shoulder, arm, elbow, forearm, wrist and hand) conditions resulting from trauma, disease, congenital or acquired deformity.

At UHS, our hand therapists help with successful recovery, allowing individuals to function normally in their daily lives. They accomplish this using a variety of techniques and tools, including activity and exercise programs, custom orthotic fabrication, management of pain and swelling and wound and scar care.

Our hand therapists at UHS Vestal Physical and Hand Therapy have a combined 85 years of experience across a wide range of upper extremity conditions.

"I love my job because it provides me an opportunity to help people heal and return to those activities that are essential for their physical, mental, and financial health.
