    This class is designed to help you explore what you will experience during labor and birth. We’ll discuss the childbirth process and offer techniques such as relaxation and breathing to help promote your comfort. Variations of the birth process, induction of labor, back labor, medications including epidural anesthesia, and Cesarean birth are also discussed.

    • This class is free to attend.
    • Registration for this class can be done by website submission only.
    • Attendees are welcome to bring one guest to this class.
    • Masks are required in all healthcare facilities.

    This class is held inside the Wilson Place building, located at 52 Harrison Street, Johnson City, NY. Class is located in the conference room across the hall from the Wilson Place Pharmacy.

  • Prescription drug take-back event at UHS Pharmacy Vestal

    Prescription drug take-back event at UHS Pharmacy Vestal

    UHS Pharmacy Vestal, in conjunction with the Broome County Sheriff’s Office and Binghamton University pharmacy students, is hosting a drive-thru prescription drug collection on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    The event, which falls on National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of unused and unwanted prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

    All varieties of medication (controlled substances and non-controlled substances, tablets, capsules, liquids, inhalers, creams, etc.) will be accepted. Please do not bring needles or sharps.

    Reunion for UHS NICU Graduates & Families

    Children who were cared for in the UHS Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) from 2017-present are invited to attend our NICU Reunion.

    This long-awaited event will reunite parents and children with the nurses and other caregivers who provided special care for them after their birth.

    Snacks and refreshments will be served.

    Skin Cancer Screening at the UHS Golf Expo

    UHS Dermatology will be on-site at the UHS Golf Expo to provide skin cancer screenings for event-goers. 

    Screenings will be confined to a specific area of the body. Full-body skin checks will not be performed at this event.

    The Expo will be held on Wednesday, June 21, at En-Joie Golf Club, starting at 4 p.m., under the Hinman, Howard & Kattell tent, just off the 18th green.

    Champion golfer Darren Clarke will be the featured honorary host of the Expo during the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open this year at En-Joie.

    Registration for a skin cancer screening in advance is required. Walk-ins will not be accepted.

  • Sock Out Cancer 5K Run/Walk

    Sock Out Cancer 5K Run/Walk

    Get up and get moving with Team UHS on Sunday, September 11 and support Broome Oncology and Sock Out Cancer at the Sock Out Cancer 5k Run & Walk happening at Otsiningo Park in Binghamton. The race starts at 10am.

    All the proceeds raised from this race will go to Sock out Cancer to help out local patients. Since its inception, Sock Out Cancer funding has helped over 400 UHS cancer patients and their families.

    Receiving a cancer diagnosis is never easy. Worry, anxiety and stress are just a few emotions patients are facing. Sock Out Cancer funding helps patients with increased travel costs, day-to-day expenses like food and utilities or even rent and/or housing payments. Sock Out Cancer allows patients to concentrate on their health, instead of worrying about how they will make ends meet.

  • St. Jude celebrity bartending fundraiser in Hancock

    St. Jude celebrity bartending fundraiser in Hancock

    UHS Delaware Valley Hospital President Rolland "Boomer" Bojo has been tapped as a celebrity bartender at the Hancock House Hotel.

    The event will benefit "Thunder 102 & 104.5 Country Cares for St. Jude Kids Radiothon!" 

    On Saturday, November 5, from 4 to 8 p.m., Boomer will be joined by other local celebrities, including Paul Ciliberto from Ciliberto & Friends, Cindy Ray from The Hancock Herald, Ray Pucci from the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce and more. 

    Registration is not required. Anyone can stop in for a tasty drink -- with or without alcohol -- to support Boomer and help raise money for a great cause.
