UHS launches nursing fellowship with SUNY Broome

July 31, 2019

Future nurses can learn about a new nursing student fellowship that UHS has launched with SUNY Broome – and get a head start on their careers in the nursing field.

The UHS Nursing Student Fellowship Program provides financial support for qualified applicants, as well as mentorship by experienced nurses in the field.

Evening and weekend classes allow students to work around their current schedules in this personalized program, while getting the clinical experience they need at the same time.

All applications will be considered, whether the applicant is a UHS employee or SUNY Broome nursing student or not.

UHS will hold information sessions on the fellowship program as follows:

On the UHS Wilson Medical Center campus – From 2 to 4 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 5, in the Eckelberger Community Room, 156 Corliss Ave., Johnson City.

At UHS Binghamton General Hospital – From 2 to 4 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 7, in the Gilroy Auditorium.

SUNY Broome academic advisors will be on-site on those days to discuss enrollment criteria, so applicants are encouraged to bring all relevant transcripts (high school and college, if applicable).

More information is available at nyuhs.org or by e-mail from recruitment@nyuhs.org.

UHS is a locally owned, not-for-profit hospital and healthcare system serving Greater Binghamton and surrounding counties. Founded in 1981, UHS provides a full range of medical, surgical, rehabilitative and long-term care services throughout New York’s Southern Tier.
