UHS Walk-Ins launch video visits

June 18, 2019

Now a live visit with a UHS healthcare provider is just a click away – on your personal computer, smartphone or mobile device.

The UHS Virtual Walk-In is a reality.

An on-screen, real-time visit with a UHS physician or advanced practice provider is available seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Care is provided from the same trusted UHS providers you would see if you visited one of our walk-in centers.  This means that for current UHS patients, the provider has access to your complete UHS electronic health record.  Also note, the Virtual Walk-In visit becomes part of your permanent UHS health record.

And you can begin your visit any time of the day or night.  If you start it during off hours, you will be notified first thing the next morning to resume your virtual visit.

All you need is a camera-enabled computer, tablet or smartphone, and you can connect with a UHS healthcare provider to discuss a minor medical condition or ask questions outside the office setting.

This is a convenient alternative to an in-office visit if you are in overall good health but would like to talk live with a provider about any one of a number of common medical issues, including upper respiratory infection or urinary tract infection.

This convenient service means, whether online or in person, you will receive the same high-quality care you have come to expect from UHS.

The service is available for patients ages 2 to 75, whether or not the person is a current UHS patient.

How to start a visit:

Go to nyuhs.zipnosis.com

Once on the website, fill out a brief online form to describe your symptoms and answer a few questions.

If applicable, provide a photo (for example, of a rash or a bruise).

Usually, within an hour, the provider will determine whether you will be able to have a virtual visit or be asked to come in to the office.  If you need to come to the walk-in, there is no charge for the virtual consultation.

Insurance will be billed upon completion of your virtual visit and your maximum out of pocket cost will not exceed $39.

If the provider gives you a prescription, the prescription will be sent directly to the pharmacy of your choice.
