As a part of the 19th annual DICK’S Open, UHS is proud to present the 2026 UHS Health Expo with Ernie Els on Wednesday, June 24, starting at 4 p.m., at En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott.
This year’s Expo will feature Mr. Els, former World No. 1 and member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, in an interview and Q&A session with SiriusXM’s Dave Marr on the 18th green, starting between 6:00 and 6:30 p.m., following the Pro Am.
“We are incredibly proud to welcome Ernie Els to our community - a world-class athlete and a true legend of the sport," said John M. Carrigg, president and chief executive officer of UHS. "Ernie’s lifelong commitment to health, family, and philanthropy make him an ideal spokesperson for a Health Expo centered on advancing health and wellness education and compassionate, community-based care. ."
"We are grateful to continue our partnership with UHS and excited to welcome Ernie Els, an extraordinary member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, to this year’s event," said DICK’S Open Executive Director John Karedes. “Els' professional and personal achievements exemplify his perseverance and passion, and serve as a reminder that anything is possible in the world of golf – making him a perfect choice for this event.”
Prior to Mr. Els’s presentation, the public is invited to a free, interactive, walk-through exposition that will feature demonstrations, screenings and health information, in the large white tent above the 18th green, starting at 4 p.m.
Highlights of the Expo will include:
• Blood pressure screenings
• Exercise challenges with clinical experts in sports medicine, orthopedics and physical rehabilitation
• Healthy parfait samples and recipes
• Giveaways and drawings
• Skin cancer screenings (advance registration required here)
Ernie Els has built a legacy as one of the most accomplished and respected players in the history of the sport. A former World No. 1, Els—nicknamed “The Big Easy” for his physical stature and fluid swing—is one of only six golfers to win both the U.S. Open and The Open Championship twice. A native of South Africa, Els is also an entrepreneur and philanthropist, owning Ernie Els Wines and a golf course design company.
In 2009, after his son was diagnosed with autism, Els and his wife, Liezl, founded the Els for Autism Foundation, a global initiative supporting education, research and care for individuals with autism. Their efforts led to the creation of The Els Center of Excellence, a world-class campus offering leading-edge programs and services. Els is also deeply committed to youth development through the Ernie Els & Fancourt Foundation, which provides educational and financial support to talented young golfers from underprivileged backgrounds in South Africa.
Mr. Els remains an active and highly competitive professional golfer. In 2024, he was named Player of the Year by the Golf Writers Association of America. Els competes in both senior and regular professional events and will take part in the 2026 DICK’S OPEN PRO-AM on Thursday, June 25.
The 2026 DICK’S Open returns to the En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott, New York, the week of June 22 to 27, with a purse of $2.2 million. All three rounds will be broadcast nationally on the GOLF Channel. For more information on the 2026 DICK’S Open, please visit dsgopen.com.
