UHS Delaware Valley Hospital hosts annual Teddy Bear Clinic
May 30, 2025
UHS Delaware Valley Hospital (DVH) hosted 126 second-grade students from Walton, Downsville, Roscoe, Livingston Manor and Hancock elementary schools for their annual Teddy Bear Clinic on Wednesday, May 28.
The educational event gives students the opportunity to become familiar with the hospital and the equipment used, with the goal of reducing potential anxiety if they or a loved one were to need medical treatment. The children brought their teddy bears to each department in the hospital and helped participate in their care with DVH staff.
Outside, a crew from LifeNet of New York landed their helicopter (a big hit with the kids) and let each student see the inside while answering all of their questions. And boy did they have a lot! Patsy DiNardo, paramedic with Walton Emergency Squad, gave students the chance to walk through the ambulance and to see how the equipment works. Sheriff’s Department Deputy Jeff Clark and K-9 Edge performed a demonstration for the students.
A huge thank you to all of the outside agencies and DVH staff who made the day a success!
