UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital Supports Senior Day at Chenango County Fair

UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital proudly served as a VIP Sponsor for Senior Day at the Chenango County Fair on Thursday, August 7, highlighting its ongoing commitment to the region’s older adult population.

“Our team was thrilled to be part of such a meaningful community event,” said Katie Olson, Development and Engagement Specialist at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital, who organized the hospital’s participation. “It’s a great opportunity to connect with our local senior population, share information on the many great services that CMH provides, highlight all the updates being made to the hospital, and remind them that we’re here to support their health and wellness needs--all with smiles and a few laughs of course.”

Senior Day is one of the fair’s most well-attended events, offering free admission for seniors and a full day of games, entertainment, and access to resources tailored to their needs. This year, despite the summer heat, several hundred seniors turned out to enjoy the festivities and meet with representatives from over 20 community organizations.

As part of the event, UHS Chenango Memorial’s Cardiology and Respiratory Therapy Departments had team members on hand with interactive displays, educational brochures, fun giveaways, and free blood pressure screenings. The team also distributed Hot Weather Safety handouts to help attendees stay safe in the high temperatures.
