A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 15, at 345 Main St. in Johnson City, to introduce the UHS Pharmacy Johnson City Retail and UHS Specialty Pharmacy in their new location.

The new pharmacy site is just across the street from the soon-to-open Wilson Main Tower at UHS Wilson Medical Center.

Open around the clock, the UHS Pharmacy Johnson City Retail will serve both UHS patients and the public at large, and offer a drive-through option, medication packaging area and pharmacist-led vaccine clinic. It will be particularly convenient for patients who need a discharge prescription filled at any hour after leaving a hospital.

In a separate area with its own entrance, the UHS Specialty Pharmacy is designed to provide special medications to patients with serious, complex conditions, such as cancer, hepatitis or diabetes.

UHS has closed its former specialty pharmacy site at UHS Binghamton General Hospital and will soon close its retail pharmacy at Wilson Place, as the convenient, centrally located new building at 345 Main St. becomes fully operational.
