Community shows up for free CPR & AED demo

UHS held a free education and demonstration event about cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillators (AED) on Thursday, Feb. 8, in the UHS Vestal lobby.

Community members stopped by to watch and learn from experts of the UHS Heart & Vascular Institute and representatives from UHS’ vendor Zoll Medical Corp., a leader in the medical equipment field on how to use this important equipment.

Cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death worldwide. Knowing about the importance of CPR and AEDs, and how to employ these responses can save lives.

Those who attended also took in a brief presentation by Farid Khan, MD, a cardiology fellow in the institute.
