UHS offers comprehensive care at expanded Upper Front Street location

March 09, 2026

UHS is committed to expanding access to essential healthcare services in our community, always close to home. Several years ago, UHS identified an opportunity to strengthen local access by expanding its presence on Upper Front Street. After years of planning, coordination, and hard work, UHS is proud to welcome the community to its newly renovated and expanded UHS Upper Front Street location.

Conveniently located next to Weis Markets at 1290 Upper Front Street in Binghamton, the newly expanded UHS facility is now completely open, offering comprehensive care for patients of all ages - from infancy through older adulthood - all under one roof.

UHS Upper Front Street proudly offers the following services: Primary Care, Pediatrics, Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation, and Lab Services. Each of these services provides the same compassionate, patient-centered care that patients have come to expect from any UHS practice.

“At UHS, we always put the patient first. We are very pleased to be able to offer comprehensive services under one roof, providing a patient experience that is convenient and private for those who trust us with their care,” said Frank Eder, MD, President of the UHS Medical Group.

This renovated facility was thoughtfully designed with patient privacy and operational efficiency in mind, providing a secure, welcoming environment that supports staff and enhances the overall patient experience.

“Thanks to the incredible collaboration and hard work of our teams, UHS is proud to have transformed this vision for care in our community into a reality – advancing the standard for healthcare in our region, and ensuring our patients have access to the services they need close to home,” Dr. Eder said.

Patients of UHS Primary Care Upper Front Street will continue to see the same providers and staff as before – now in an improved, modernized space. Primary care providers focus on comprehensive, continuous care for patients, with services including preventive care (such as regular check-ups, screenings, and vaccinations), diagnosis and treatment for common conditions and illnesses, and more.

If your provider orders lab work, you can receive those services at the same location. UHS Lab Services Upper Front Street continues to deliver exceptional care and high-quality results for all of your laboratory needs. At this location, patients can also take advantage of MyChart’s new “On My Way” feature, which allows them to notify the lab before arrival to help minimize wait times.

An exciting new chapter for two trusted practices

As part of this expansion, UHS has closed its facility at 91 Chenango Bridge Road, relocating the Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation and Pediatrics practices that served patients at that site for many years. Patients can feel confident knowing they will continue to see the same providers and staff as before at the expanded Upper Front Street facility.

The providers and staff at UHS Pediatrics Upper Front Street have served families in our community for decades. The experienced pediatric team builds strong relationships with families, supporting childhood development and guiding patients on their path to healthy adulthood. At this expanded location, families benefit from having both pediatric and primary care in one shared space.

“For some patients, the transition from pediatric care to primary care can be a challenge,” said Dr. Eder. “By offering these services under one roof, we hope to make the transition of care seamless for our patients. Once pediatric patients are old enough to begin seeing a primary care provider to better meet their medical needs, they only have to go right next door.”

UHS Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Upper Front Street brings decades of experience treating a wide range of conditions and injuries. The expanded facility allows the team to continue restoring strength, mobility and confidence for patients while beginning an exciting new chapter in a modern, upgraded space.

“The move to Upper Front Street provides a great opportunity to both expand services for our established clientele and welcome new patients,” said Darrel Harvey, Director of Outpatient Operations, UHS Physical Therapy and Rehab. “The new facility also allows us to place a great focus on sports performance, with our new, state-of-the-art sports performance gym.”

The new sports performance gym enables UHS strength coaches, athletic trainers, and physical therapists to work with athletes of all ages – in individual or group settings – in a modern space with the latest, high-quality equipment.

“Our new gym offers a best-in-class experience for a wide variety of the patients we serve – whether it’s student athletes, our Punch Out Parkinson’s patients, bridge clients who are between physical therapy and returning to competition, and more,” Mr. Harvey said.
