UHS Delaware Valley Hospital breaks ground on transformative Medical Neighborhood project

A crowd of community members, healthcare professionals, and local leaders gathered at UHS Delaware Valley Hospital (DVH) on Wednesday, October 22 to celebrate the official groundbreaking of the hospital’s transformative Medical Neighborhood project. The event marked the beginning of a major expansion aimed at enhancing access to integrated, patient-centered care in the region.

The ceremony featured remarks from UHS executives, including DVH President and CEO Rolland “Boomer” Bojo, who emphasized the importance of the initiative for the rural community. “This transformative investment will ensure that generations to come will have access to the highest quality of care close to home,” Bojo stated.

President and CEO of UHS John Carrigg added, “Healthcare is rapidly advancing, and having a modern facility that keeps pace with those advancements will go a long to improving the critical metrics like patient safety and quality – enhancing the overall patient experience.”

The new four-story addition will consolidate a wide range of services under one roof, including:

• Primary medical care
• Specialty medical services
• Physical, occupational, and speech therapy
• Laboratory and blood draw services
• Building services and support functions

The Medical Neighborhood is designed to foster collaboration among providers and streamline the delivery of care, ultimately improving health outcomes for patients across Delaware County and beyond.

The project is supported by a $20 million grant from the New York State Department of Health through the Statewide Health Care Facility Transformation Program. Completion of the project is anticipated by the end of 2027.
