UHS Delaware Valley Hospital Awarded NYSDOH Grant
August 11, 2025
UHS Delaware Valley Hospital (DVH) is pleased to announce it has been awarded a $20 million grant through the Statewide Health Care Facility Transformation Program IV application with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).
This investment is one of over 50 projects funded by New York State through the Statewide Health Care Facility Transformation Program, aimed at expanding access to inpatient, primary, behavioral health and long-term care services.
UHS DVH is a vital cornerstone of healthcare in Delaware County, serving families, seniors, and individuals who might otherwise face significant barriers in receiving care. To better meet the growing needs of the community, the hospital recently announced its plans to build a four-story addition that will transform the rural hospital into the Delaware Valley Hospital Medical Neighborhood. This grant will support that expansion.
"This grant will provide crucial funding for the UHS DVH Medical Neighborhood,” said UHS DVH President & CEO Rolland “Boomer” Bojo. “This transformative investment will ensure that generations to come will have access to the highest quality of care close to home.”
The new building, which will be connected to the main hospital building, will house all 25 inpatient beds and the following services and functions:
- Primary medical care services
- Medical specialty services
- Physical, occupational & speech therapy
- Laboratory and blood draw
- Building services and other support functions
The Medical Neighborhood Project is expected to begin in fall of 2025 with an anticipated completion by the end of 2027.
