UHS was proud to partner with the Broome County Sheriff's Office and Blue Sisters National for the 3rd Annual Backpack Giveaway, held at the Big Dipper BBQ 2 in Conklin, NY. The event brought together community organizations, volunteers, and donors with a shared goal: helping local students begin the new school year with confidence and the supplies they need to succeed.
Thanks to the generous donations collected throughout our community during the month of July, we were able to provide over 250 backpacks filled with essential school supplies to local students and families in need. These contributions will help ensure students have the tools they need for a successful start to the new school year.
For UHS, the event reflects an ongoing commitment to supporting the health, well-being, and success of children and families across the region. By providing students with backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and other classroom essentials, the initiative helps remove barriers that can make the start of a new school year challenging for some families.
Thanks to everyone who donated, volunteered, and supported this year's effort. Together, our community helped ensure that hundreds of students will walk into their classrooms prepared, confident, and ready to learn on the first day of school.
