Our Childbirth Education classes are offered to expectant moms, dads and others. Classes focus on prepared childbirth, labor, delivery, breastfeeding and infant care.
Classes fill up quickly so please register early.
Prepared Childbirth
This one-night class is designed to help you explore what you will experience during labor and birth. We’ll discuss the childbirth process and offer techniques such as relaxation and breathing to help promote your comfort. Variations of the birth process, induction of labor, back labor, medications including epidural anesthesia, and Cesarean birth are also discussed.

Getting Ready for Baby
This one-night class offers an overview of the essentials of newborn care including bathing, diapering, breastfeeding, circumcision, cord care and more. Opportunities to practice baby care skills are provided. Strategies for helping baby sleep through the night, understanding infant crying and developing comfort skills will be covered. We will have an overview of infant nutrition and discuss the benefits of breastfeeding, breast pumps, storage of breast milk and proper care of bottle and accessories. General well-child care and recognizing signs of illness will also be discussed.

Prenatal Breastfeeding
This class is designed for the woman who has chosen to breastfeed her baby or for the woman who is undecided about what feeding method is right for her. Prenatal preparation, getting started in the hospital and prevention of common problems will be discussed. Other topics include breast pumps, expressing breast milk and practical strategies for continuing to breastfeed when returning to work.

Baby Safety
This class helps you to prepare you and your home for the arrival of your new baby. Home safety and accident prevention are discussed, and you will learn the latest recommendations for childproofing your home. Choking risks and the latest information on car seat safety and selection will be covered.
