Golf legend Lee Trevino to headline 2025 UHS Health Expo at DICK’s Open

June 30, 2025

UHS is excited to announce six-time Major Champion and World Golf Hall of Fame member Lee Trevino will headline the UHS Health Expo at the DICK’SOpen on Wednesday, July 9, at En-Joie Golf Club in Endicott.

Following the conclusion of the Pro-Am tournament, around 6:30 p.m., Mr. Trevino will join SiriusXM host Dave Marr for a special live interview and Q&A session on the 18th green.

Prior to the interview, the public is invited to explore a free, interactive health expo from UHS, starting at 4 p.m. in the large white tent overlooking the 18th green. The expo will feature health screenings, wellness demonstrations and educational resources for attendees.

“We are honored to have Lee Trevino, one of the world's greatest golfers, as the honorary host of our 2025 Expo," said John M. Carrigg, president and chief executive officer of UHS. "Not only is he a champion athlete in every sense, but also a champion of fitness, nutrition and a positive, never-give-up attitude, leading a life dedicated to wellness."

At 85 years old, Lee Trevino remains active in golf, playing daily and sharing his expertise with others. In December 2024, he conducted a short game and bunker play clinic at Punta Mita Golf Club in Mexico, engaging attendees with his signature humor and storytelling. He continues to practice daily, spending 90 minutes each morning focusing on his short game skills at his local golf club.

Mr. Trevino’s rise through the ranks of professional golf is one of the most compelling stories in the sport. He learned to play using makeshift clubs and public courses. His self-taught game and fearless personality broke barriers in a sport long dominated by tradition.

He remains one of the most respected figures in the game of golf. Known for his quick wit, unshakable focus and unorthodox swing, Mr. Trevino has one of the most remarkable careers in professional golf, winning six major championships and leaving an enduring legacy on both the PGA Tour and the PGA Tour Champions.

Mr. Trevino’s career highlights include victories at the U.S. Open twice (1968, 1971), The Open Championship twice (1971, 1972), and the PGA Championship twice (1974, 1984), making him a six-time major champion. His 1971 season remains one of the most iconic in golf history—Mr. Trevino won the U.S. Open, the Canadian Open, and The Open Championship in a span of just 20 days—a feat unmatched to this day.

Mr. Trevino joined the PGA Tour Champions (formerly the Senior PGA Tour) in 1990 and quickly climbed to the top of the ranks once again. He won 29 events on the senior circuit, including four senior major championships. He was the tour’s leading money winner three times and claimed Player of the Year honors in 1990 and 1992. His consistency and competitiveness well into his fifties made him one of the early stars of the senior tour.

Mr. Trevino is one of only four players in history—alongside Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Tiger Woods—to win the U.S. Open, The Open Championship, and the PGA Championship twice. He also ranks among a select group of players who have won professional events in four different decades.

Mr. Trevino’s biggest rivalry was with Jack Nicklaus, drawing fans and television audiences to the PGA Tour Champions and elevating the status of the tour. His contributions to the game have earned him induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame, the Presidential Medal of Freedom and recognition as one of the best golfers of all time.

From humble beginnings to the grandest stages in golf, Mr. Trevino’s remarkable journey is a testament to talent, relentless determination and an enduring charisma that has captivated fans for decades. His resilience in overcoming challenges and excelling at the highest level made him more than just a champion—it established him as a beloved ambassador of the sport whose legacy continues to inspire generations.

The 2025 DICK’S Open returns to the En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott, New York, the week of July 7 to 12, with a purse of $2.2 million. All three rounds will be broadcast on the GOLF Channel. For more information on the 2025 DICK’S Open, please visit dsgopen.com.
