Dr. Rajesh Davé honored with President’s Award from Upstate Medical University

September 30, 2025

Rajesh Davé, MD, executive vice president for Clinical Integration and chief medical officer at UHS, was recently presented the President’s Award for Distinguished Service from SUNY Upstate Medical University. The awards honors Dr. Davé’s unwavering commitment to elevating healthcare and the lasting impact of his visionary leadership and contributions.

This recognition is another major milestone in Dr. Davé’s distinguished career as a pioneering neonatologist in Greater Binghamton and a significant leader in the history of UHS. Dr. Davé has dedicated himself to numerous projects over the years, playing a key role in the development of the UHS healthcare system, collaborating with community groups to establish an infant mortality task force, and helping train new generations of physicians in his role as dean of Upstate’s Clinical Campus at Binghamton.

Dr. Davé was also a pioneer in bringing newborn intensive care to Greater Binghamton, serving an instrumental role in the establishment of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at UHS Wilson Medical Center more than 30 years ago. In 2023, Dr. Davé was honored with an engraved plaque recognizing his “outstanding service and exceptional commitment” to the NICU, which has provided critical care and touched the lives of thousands of infants and their families over the years.

Dr. Davé was recognized at Upstate’s Fall Faculty Convocation on September 10. To read more about the award, click here.
