UHS offers a full range of plastic surgery procedures for patients from birth and up. Our plastic surgery team is based at UHS Binghamton General Hospital, where most surgeries and post-operative care take place.

When you decide you’re ready, we can see you quickly. Your consultation will be scheduled promptly, and if surgery is needed, it will be arranged based on your diagnosis and insurance authorization requirements.

Where does UHS offer plastic surgery consultations and follow-up appointments?

  • All appointments will take place in our office at UHS Binghamton General Hospital or UHS Dermatology Vestal.

Where does UHS offer plastic surgery procedures?

  • Your procedure, whether in the office under local anesthesia or in the operating room, will most commonly be scheduled at UHS Binghamton General Hospital. Upon request, surgeries may also be performed by B. Peter Fedczuk, MD at UHS Dermatology Vestal.

How will I know if my procedure will be covered by insurance?

  • Once you see one of our providers they will determine medical necessity and work with their team on an insurance authorization, if applicable. For example, if you have had major weight loss, then your skin removal abdominal surgery may be covered by insurance. 

Can I finance my cosmetic procedure or must I pay in full up front?

  • Payment is due in full prior to date of service. We do offer Curae as a payment financing solution.

 Does UHS offer gender-affirming surgery?

  • Yes. UHS is the area’s only provider offering facial feminization surgery for transgender patients. We also offer top surgery for male to female and female to male patients.  

Do I need to quit any nicotine products prior to my cosmetic consultation and surgery?

  • Yes. Our providers require patient’s be three months nicotine free prior to a cosmetic consultation and they must remain nicotine free until healed from surgery.
