This week, the nation pauses to celebrate nurses — and at UHS, we want to begin by saying, thank you. Thank you to all of our nurses who provide excellent patient care each and every day.

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2026 Empty Bowl Events and showed their support for hunger relief in our area. 399 lunches were sold during the two days and we raised $9,995. This in our highest attended Empty Bowls yet!

UHS, the region’s Comprehensive Stroke Center, urges everyone to think BEFAST. Each May, National Stroke Awareness Month serves as a critical reminder that a stroke—also called a “brain attack”—can happen suddenly and without warning.

Team UHS turned out in force Sunday, April 26 to benefit the work of the American Heart Association. The 2026 Southern Tier Heart Walk brought in hundreds of walkers from around the community at the Oakdale Commons in Johnson City.
