Where to find a team of movement experts ready to help
May 12, 2025
If you or a loved one has experienced a planned surgery, injury, accident, or serious illness, recovery might be a long road that includes physical therapy and rehabilitation. In some cases, rehabilitation begins while the person is still in the hospital. Many times, however, patients are discharged from the hospital before they have fully regained their strength and independence.
As part of a patient’s discharge plan, the treating provider might recommend additional therapy. Often, it is an outpatient therapy program for patients who receive medical treatment without hospitalization. Physical therapy and rehab are focused on helping patients regain lost abilities and functions, such as walking or performing daily tasks. That is where the UHS Outpatient Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation team truly stands out.
Our physical therapists strive for excellence in all they do, providing superior care through a collaborative approach to rehabilitation. At UHS Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants work together effectively and efficiently to return our patients to their functional goals and improve their quality of life.
Expanded reach
In March, UHS Physical Therapy and Rehab opened a new location at UHS Senior Living at Ideal.
UHS Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation at Ideal offers physical and occupational therapy services for the community, specializing in Geriatric care. The new facility provides the latest innovations in therapy technology and expert care from our staff.
“With opening our new Outpatient Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation location on the Ideal campus, we hired staff with both a specific interest in and a specialized background in geriatric care to be sure that we can offer the best care to this community of patients,” said Darrel Harvey, PT, DPT, MBA, Director Outpatient Operations, UHS Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation.
This expansion marks a new chapter for the UHS Physical Therapy and Senior Living at Ideal teams. United by a shared vision to provide enhanced services for those in need of physical therapy treatment, the teams collaborated over several years of meticulous planning to bring this exciting new facility to fruition.
Treating a wide variety of conditions
Due to its unique location on the Ideal campus and the specialty of the therapists on the team, the new Physical Therapy and Rehab location focuses primarily on the geriatric population. However, our team can treat a full range of rehabilitation needs in an outpatient setting.
UHS Physical Therapy & Rehab is part of an integrated healthcare system, providing a unique opportunity to maximize care coordination to support you and your healthcare needs.
