UHS Nutrition Services attended an after-school event for Supporting Our Minds and Bodies Through Wellness initiative at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School in Binghamton on October 8.
The event aimed to increase awareness and enrollment in the school-based health centers while giving parents an opportunity to learn more about the nutrition services available to their children with fun activities and snacks to get them interested in healthy eating and exercise.
Students enrolled in UHS School-Based Health Centers have access to nutrition services at no cost. Services include nutrition education and resources, individualized nutrition counseling for selective or picky eating, sensory and texture aversions, weight management, food allergy management and more.
Through programs like these, UHS School-Based Health Centers can help families learn about resources that support healthy choices both at school and at home.
