Large turnout for UHS Oncology's 3rd annual Cancer Survivors Day Picnic
June 06, 2025
UHS Oncology Services hosted its 3rd annual Cancer Survivors Day Picnic on Saturday, June 1 at Otsiningo Park in Binghamton, in recognition of National Cancer Survivors Day 2025.
This year's picnic was attended by over 100 survivors, their families, and UHS staff from Radiation Oncology and Rehabilitation Services.
Attendees enjoyed picnic food from UHS Food & Nutrition, and ice cream from the Cone Connection. Although it was a chilly day, it was made a little warmer with visits from our furry friends from Bright & Beautiful Therapy Dogs and great music from our very own transportation coordinator, Kevin.
This year's picnic theme was "Fabric of Hope." Survivors were able to write their own special message on a quilting square that will then be assembled and displayed within our cancer center. The quilt is being constructed with the generous assistance of members of the Common Threads Quilting Club.
Thank you to all who attended and to everyone in our community who donated their time and resources to make this year's event so special.
