Bringing Advanced Trauma Training to Our Region

September 16, 2026

The UHS Wilson Medical Center Trauma Program continues to strengthen trauma care across our region through its commitment to Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) education.

After focusing on instructor development and launching our initial courses in 2025, our program expanded its efforts in 2026 by increasing the number of ATLS courses offered on-site. To date, we have successfully hosted three ATLS Instructor Courses and nine ATLS Provider Courses, with an additional Provider Course scheduled for October.

The impact of these educational opportunities extends beyond our local community. Participants have traveled from across the globe to attend our courses, including providers from Poland, Australia, and Germany. This international participation reflects the quality of our program and the growing recognition of UHS as a destination for trauma education.

By providing convenient access to ATLS training, we are helping physicians and advanced practice providers strengthen the knowledge and skills needed to rapidly assess, stabilize, and manage injured patients. These efforts support our mission of delivering high-quality, evidence-based trauma care and ensuring the best possible outcomes for those we serve.

As we continue to grow our educational offerings, the Trauma Program remains dedicated to advancing trauma education, fostering clinical excellence, and enhancing the care of trauma patients throughout our region and beyond.

Ready to enhance your trauma care skills? Join our next ATLS Course on October 17-18. Contact Bethlehem.Emmons-Post@nyuhs.org for details.
