Nursing Careers at United Health Services

At United Health Services (UHS), we recognize that our nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system. Often recognized by colleagues and patients for their commitment to compassionate care, our registered nurses form a community that’s connected by shared values and camaraderie.

Whether you’re an experienced RN or just launching your career, you’ll find your home at United Health Services. Here, you’ll be positioned to succeed so you can do what you do best: listen to, care for, and give hope to our patients.

Submit this brief questionnaire to get started! (We'll need to add another sentence or two here about the recruitment process. What can an applicant expect? How long before they will be contacted by someone? Anything to give them an idea about this process would be good to place here.)
United Health Services offers a comprehensive Nurse Residency Program for newly licensed RNs. If you’re nearing completion of your ASN or BSN program, consider launching your career at one of our Binghamton area hospitals, UHS Wilson Medical Center or UHS Binghamton General Hospital.

You’ll find more than a job at UHS.

Diverse Career Opportunities

With more than 60 locations across New York’s Southern Tier—inclusive of hospitals, rural clinics, specialty practices, walk-ins, home care, and long-term care—it’s likely you’ll find an RN position that aligns with your clinical interests.

Flexible RN Schedules

UHS offers many shift and schedule options, including 8- and 12-hour shifts, and full-time, part-time, weekend, and per diem schedules. Work with your manager to develop a schedule that meets staffing needs and allows for work-life balance.

Nursing Recognition Programs

UHS nurses are consistently presented with the UHS LOVED (Living Our Values Every Day) Award, the Legendary Award, and our highest annual honor, the UHS Laureate. We also participate in the national DAISY Award program.

Shared Governance for RNs

RNs actively participate in unit and specialty nursing councils. Members work together to align UHS nursing with evidence-based practice. Staff-led councils work closely with leadership to make improvements and changes.

Co-Workers who are like Family

United Health Services may be the region’s largest healthcare system, but we’re known for our small-town, family vibe among our staff. We lift each other up and work together to put our patients first. Kindness is the norm.

RN Career Advancement

UHS offers tuition reimbursement for current employees and provides support for RNs to obtain ANCC credentials. We also have a robust clinical ladder and mentorship program that benefits both experienced and new RNs.

From a UHS Registered Nurse:

“As a new employee, my teammates have been so unbelievably welcoming and helpful. They go above and beyond to encourage me and lend a hand. I’ve just never worked with a group like this. It makes the stresses of starting a new job a little easier to handle knowing I’ve got a family behind me.”
