UHS Hospitals' visitor management starts April 1

March 14, 2019

In keeping with UHS’ commitment to patient safety, security and comfort, UHS Hospitals will be implementing visitor management at its public entrances. This will ensure patient, visitor and staff safety, provide enhanced patient privacy and assist guests in getting where they want to go.

The visitor management program at our entrances will go into effect at UHS Wilson Medical Center on April 1, and at UHS Binghamton General Hospital on July 1. The program will apply to all visitors, including outpatients, vendors, and any other non-staff guests.

Upon entering a UHS Hospitals facility, the visitor will be required to show their driver’s license or other government-issued identification. Once the ID is validated, the person will be given a temporary visitor pass to wear while on the premises. If the visitor doesn’t have ID with them, a photo of the person will be taken, information will be obtained and a visitor pass will be issued.

The visitor pass will include the visitor’s name, picture, destination location, and date of issue.

To better serve visitors, public access points for UHS Hospitals will be at the following entrances. UHS staff and volunteers will be present at these designated public entrances to ensure that our visitors will receive assistance in getting to their desired location:

At UHS Wilson Medical Center:

The Decker Center and Emergency Department entrances

At UHS Binghamton General Hospital:

The Mitchell Avenue Main entrance, 40 Mitchell Avenue, the entrance from the parking lot on Park Avenue, and the Emergency Department entrance
