UHS Chenango Memorial staff go “Casual For A Cause” for the Alzheimer’s Association

June 28, 2018

More than 30 staff member of The UHS Senior Living Center in Norwich are honoring the strength, heart, and endurance of those facing Alzheimer’s. The purple and casually dressed members are participating with the Alzheimer’s Association “The Longest Day” fundraising and awareness event. The staff chose to participate by purchasing stickers allowing them to dress casually every Friday in June.

Thousands of teams all over the world will show their love and support annually on June 21 for those impacted by the disease, generally by doing what they love to raise funds and awareness. More than 5 million Americans are living with the disease and over 15 million Americans care caregivers.  The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Locally, they provide a monthly support group, community outreach services; social programs and outings for people living with dementia, education programs, and 24 hours help line 800-272-3900.

UHS Chenango Memorial Senior Living will be hosting a three part educational series provided by the Association starting September 25, 2018.  For more information visit www.alz.org/cny or contact Sue Martin, Social Worker at 607-337-4019.
