Masks stay in place in healthcare settings
February 22, 2022
While New York Governor Kathy Hochul has announced the end of the mask mandate for indoor spaces in the state, the requirement for face coverings at UHS facilities remains in place.
Masks must still be worn at all UHS locations across the System, including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home care settings and physician practices.
Masks are still required to help keep healthcare settings, where workers are caring for the most vulnerable citizens, COVID-free.
Please continue to wear a mask in all areas of UHS.
The state mandate had required masks to be worn inside businesses where vaccination status was not being checked.
The mandate will remain in effect at homeless shelters, healthcare centers, state-run nursing homes, schools, childcare centers and correctional facilities.
