Hamad Saleemi, D.O.

Biography

Hamad Saleemi, DO is the UHS 2018-2019 Sports Medicine fellow.  He studied Biochemistry at Stony Brook University and then completed medical school at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2014.  After medical school, he completed his internship at Christiana Hospital in Delaware followed by a three year residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Stony Brook University Hospital. As the UHS Sports Medicine Fellow he teaches residents and medical students and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at SUNY Upstate Medical University. He covers a wide variety of community and high school athletics, provides regular coverage for Union-Endicott High School, and is an Assistant Team Physician for the Binghamton University Bearcats. He covers the Binghamton Junior Senators and covers as well as coordinates the New York State Public High School Basketball State Championship.

Dr. Saleemi’s interests are wide in the field of Sports Medicine.  As a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation trained physician specializing in Sports Medicine, he enjoys taking care of both young athletes and adults with a wide variety of ailments, from fractures to arthritis to concussions.  He values exercise and sport as a tool for health in all patients including the disabled.  Dr. Saleemi maintains his interests in basketball, football, and racquetball, is a certified scuba diver, and trains in powerlifting with Team UHS.
