 Shannon Clemons, MD

Shannon Clemons, MD is the UHS 2019-2020 Sports Medicine fellow. She studied Exercise Physiology at Howard University and then completed medical school at Meharry Medical College in 2014. After medical school, she completed residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Miami at Holy Cross Hospital, Ft Lauderdale, FL. As the UHS Sports Medicine Fellow she teaches residents and medical students and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at SUNY Upstate Medical University. She covers a wide variety of community and high school athletics, provides regular coverage for Johnson City Senior High School, is an Assistant Team Physician for the Binghamton University Bearcats, and covers the SUNY Broome Men’s and Women’s soccer teams. Dr. Clemons’ interests are wide in the field of Sports Medicine.

As an Internal Medicine trained physician specializing in Sports Medicine, she enjoys taking care of both young athletes and adults with a wide variety of ailments, from fractures to arthritis to concussions. She values exercise and sport as a tool for health in all patients, including the elderly and disabled. Dr. Clemons also has interests in reading, exercising, and improving mental health issues amongst society as a whole.
