Tents being removed from hospital campuses

The large tents that were installed in connection with COVID-19 are being removed this week from the UHS and Ascension Lourdes campuses.

The tents were used for triaging patients who arrived at the hospitals’ Emergency Departments.

A smaller tent used for specialized testing will remain open at UHS Vestal.

It is important for the public to know that the hospitals in our area are not in crisis mode and are able to triage patients as usual as they present at the Emergency Rooms.

The hospitals have in place the necessary equipment and precautions to ensure the safe care of all patients.

If you experience symptoms that may be related to COVID-19, you are encouraged to begin by using the virtual health services provided online by both UHS and Ascension Lourdes, or to call your healthcare provider.
