UHS to host Survivors of Suicide Loss Day event

Saturday, November 23 is International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day, when people affected by suicide loss come together to find comfort and gain understanding as they share stories of healing and hope.

UHS will hold a Survivor Day event in the Russell Community Room at UHS Binghamton General Hospital, Mitchell Avenue, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event is help in cooperation with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and B.C. SAFE (Broome County Suicide Awareness for Families and Educators).

For many loss survivors, attending a Survivor Day event is an opportunity to discover that they are not alone in their experience of losing someone they know and love to suicide.
