Community goes "Bowlin' for Colons" to support a good cause

March 18, 2019

More than one-hundred people spent Saturday bowling for a good cause.

There were 26 teams bowling at the 'Bowlin' for Colons' fundraiser event at Midway Lanes in Vestal.

Besides bowling, teams enjoyed food and a 50/50 raffle. All the proceeds from the event will benefit the non-profit organization Sock Out Cancer, which offers financial help to families affected by cancer in the Greater Binghamton area.

According to the American Cancer Society, colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer diagnosed in both men and women in the United States. In 2019, The ACS estimates there were 101,420 new cases of colon cancer and 44,180 new cases of rectal cancer.
