Water main has begun on Baldwin Street

March 23, 2018

A two-month project to upgrade water service to the UHS Wilson Medical Center campus and the Village of Johnson City began April 9.

Ambulances and patients arriving at UHS Wilson will be able to access the Emergency Department from the Main Street side, turning onto Baldwin Street.

The area of the Baldwin Street-Corliss Avenue intersection will be restricted to local traffic only.

The water main replacement is a collaboration between UHS and the Village of Johnson City, said Richard Keehle, director of Support Services at UHS.

“The water line replacement will be an upgrade from the current size and condition, and will serve UHS Hospitals better now and in the future for any developments on the campus,” he said.  “We are working collaboratively with the village to minimize the impact of the project to our campus and to motorists in the area.”

The planned work is weather-permitting.
