UHS employees honored for long-term service

UHS team members with 20 to 50 years of service were recognized Nov.16 at the 37th annual Employees' Service Awards dinner in downtown Binghamton.

A total of 316 milestone employees and new retirees received pins and awards in recognition of their long-term service to UHS.
The event was held Friday evening at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel.

Maria Leahy, RN, UHS New Horizons, received special recognition as the only 2018 employee to have reached the 50-year mark.

"This event recognizes service measured in years, and also the value of that service to our organization," said John Carrigg, president and chief executive officer of UHS. "These honored employees fully engage the patient experience.  They know their is no higher purpose than caring for others."

More than 400 staff members and their guests attended the dinner.
