Team UHS nears $5,000 in fundraising for the Relay for Life
Some cash is still rolling in, but so far Team UHS has raised almost $5,000 for Relay for Life.
This year's Relay was held on Saturday, June 2, at Sammon Field in Vestal.
Kimberlee Roe, one of the Team UHS organizers, said: "Thanks to all who participated on our team to support Relay. The event was very moving - for survivors, fighters, supporters, caregivers and those there to remember a loved one."
Proceeds benefit the work of the American Cancer Society in funding groundbreaking cancer research and patient care programs that make a difference in communities like ours.
Most importantly, the annual event honors those who have battled cancer, as well as survivors, plus their friends and families.
UHS employees participate in a number of benefit walks and runs, including Relay, the Heart Walk, the YMCA Corporate Challenge and the March for Babies.
