UHS Residency held graduation for 31 doctors

Thirty-one doctors graduated June 4 from the UHS Medical Residency Program, with some remaining in the region to begin their medical practices and others joining healthcare organizations elsewhere around the country.

The House Staff Graduation for the Class of 2017 was held Sunday evening at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Binghamton.

Graduating residents in the Family Medicine Residency are: McKirven Ceus, MD; Amrita Chakraborty, MD; Alan DeMaine, DO; Avinash Mantha, MD; Sherin Many, MD; Aditya Mehta, MD; Kimberly Ni, MD; Matthew Procopio, MD; Ahmed Sheikh, DO; and Shownak Shreyarthi, MD. Dr. Many will be joining Lourdes Hospital and Dr. Ni will be joining UHS Primary Care in Vestal.

Graduates in Internal Medicine are: Mohammad Abidi, MD; Sayf Bala, MD; Robert Borowski, DO; Khadija Raza, MD; Mouhamed Amr Sabouni, MD; Ayumi Salva, DO; Austin Tidwell, DO; and Alexander Williams, MD. Dr. Bala will be joining UHS as a Hospitalist, Dr. Raza will be joining UHS Primary Care in Vestal, Dr. Sabouni will be staying with UHS as a new Cardiovascular Disease fellow, and Dr. Williams will be joining UHS as a Hospitalist.

Transitional Year graduates are: Levy Adoko, MD; Sean Feinberg, MD; Dong Joo Kim, MD; Nina Millet, MD; Vamsee Neerukonda, MD; Hans Salamanca, MD; and Waleed Shady, MD.

Graduates in the Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency, with added credential in RRA surgery, are: Mathew Cline, DPM; Armando Gonzalez, DPM; and Harpreet Khalsa, DPM.

Preliminary Medicine Year graduate is: Keerti Pakala, MD.

Paul Han, MD, graduated from the Sports Medicine Fellowship, and Nishant Ranawat, MD from the Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology Fellowship.
