UHS adds new general surgeon in Norwich

In response to an increasing demand for general surgical services, UHS Chenango Memorial announces that a new general surgeon has joined its medical staff. Matthew K. Reppert, MD, has practiced in upstate New York for the past 30 years. He joins Silas Chikunguwo, MD, in the Surgical Department at UHS Chenango Memorial's 4 Newton Avenue office.

"Dr. Reppert is an experienced, board-certified general surgeon who has practiced in group practices in several parts of central New York and is looking forward to practicing full-time in the Norwich area," said Chris Kisacky, vice president for Operations at the hospital. "Employing Dr. Reppert provides local patients with an additional experienced surgeon at our growing facility," she said. "Dr. Reppert will enable our medical staff to serve more patients with the high-quality services local residents expect and deserve.”

Dr. Reppert received his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed a residency with the Guthrie healthcare system in Sayre, Pa. He has started seeing patients at UHS Chenango Memorial and is excited about the opportunities offered to both him and his patients. "I look forward to meeting my new patients and helping all those who need my services," he said. An outdoor enthusiast, he is well-suited to the climate and environment of the Norwich area. “I love the way Norwich is a small town with a big-city feel, offering natural outdoor adventure opportunities," he said.
