Team UHS works at equestrian center for first Day of Caring event

September 08, 2017
Team UHS turned out in force Sept. 8 for a preliminary project of the United Way Day of Caring.

The project, held on the alternate date of Sept. 8 (the regular Day of Caring will be held Sept. 15 this year), featured preparation work for a therapy horseback riding clinic Sept. 9 and 10 by Verde View Esquestrian Center.

More than 25 UHS employees worked either a morning or an afternoon shift at the Myers Stables on Colesville Road, getting the facility ready for the clinic.

UHS staff rolled up their sleeves to clean, sweep, dust and wash the interior of the show barn, pull weeds on the grounds and decorate an outdoor arena.

The equestrian center provides riding instruction for persons with disabilities.
