Renovations continue at UHS facilities

UHS will replace the roof of the Picciano Building at UHS Wilson Medical Center and do other remodeling to convert the building's third floor to a private-room cancer unit.

Because of the major work involved, it was necessary to temporarily vacate the entire Picciano Building.

Hospital departments, clinics and food services that were housed there have been moved to other locations.

These moves are designed to ensure the very best in patient, visitor and staff safety, comfort and convenience during the extensive renovation project.

Among the changes that are now in place are these:

  • UHS Primary Care Johnson City is now located at UHS Primary Care 507 Main Street.
  • Internal Medicine services that were at 507 Main Street have been consolidated with the Internal Medicine office in the Summit Building at UHS Binghamton General Hospital.
  • The UHS Diabetes Center moved from Picciano 2 to the UHS Sleep Center on Pennsylvania Avenue in Binghamton.
  • Dining for visitors and staff is available in the Harrison Street Coffee Shop and Lobby area at UHS Wilson. Food vendors also are set up by the big tent outdoors. Patient meals are delivered from UHS Binghamton General to UHS Wilson.
  • Administrative and support functions that were housed in Picciano have moved to other areas on the campus and to other UHS facilities in Broome County.

If you have questions about the location of any UHS service, please call your provider before your appointment.
