MRI Service Expands Hours

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Dotti Kruppo, Director, Community Relations

UHS Delaware Valley Hospital is expanding the hours that the mobile MRI unit is available, on the hospital campus, in order to better accommodate patients. The MRI service is currently offered on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. but now it will also be at Delaware Valley on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“The MRI service has been very popular and has been growing,” said Randy Taylor, manager of respiratory therapy and imaging at the hospital. “We wanted to provide additional hours so patients can receive their testing more expediently. Even waiting a week can be worrisome for patients. We wanted to be able to get them scheduled even faster.”

The unit that comes to UHS Delaware Valley features a wide opening that accommodates both larger and most claustrophobic patients. Patients needing an MRI do not need to be patients of Delaware Valley Hospital or its providers. The patient’s doctor simply makes a referral and the insurance authorization for the testing is completed by the MRI company.

Should you have questions regarding the service, please call UHS Delaware Valley Hospital’s Imaging Center at 607-865-2126.
