Physicians named to new roles at UHS Hospitals

Jeffrey Gray, MD, has been named director of the Hospitalist Program at UHS Hospitals.

Dr. Gray completed his medical degree at New York Medical College and his residency at the University of Arizona, said Rajesh Davé, MD, executive vice president for Clinical Integration and chief medical officer.

Dr. Gray has held leadership roles in which he grew and developed two busy outpatient practices. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and has worked as both a primary care physician and hospitalist, including his most recent role as a nocturnist for UHS Wilson.

Dr.Gray started in his new post on Feb. 5.

Dr. Davé noted: "I would like to sincerely thank Peter Ronan, MD, for pinch-hitting as interim medical director. UHS feels indebted to him for his invaluable contribution and for his assistance during this transition."

In addition: Shalid Mughal, MD, is the new medical director of Utilization Management, and will continue as UM's physician advisor; he will also remain an active hospitalist.

Nazif Chowdhury, MD, will continue as UHS Wilson site director and associate program director for the Internal Medicine Residency.

Mark Speicher, DO, will continue as the UHS Binghamton General site director for the Residency.
