Senator Fred Akshar made a quick visit to UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital on Wednesday

Frederick J. Akshar II is the Senator for the 52nd District of the New York Senate. He is a Republican and the districts he represents include Broome County and Tioga County as well as portions of Chenango and Delaware Counties. Senator Akshar stopped in to UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital in the afternoon for a quick hospital tour. Many hospital staff and volunteers greeted the Senator and shared numerous success stories as well as plans and the direction for the local hospital’s future. Senator Akshar expressed appreciation for UHS Chenango Memorial’s continued efforts to maintain emergency and primary care in Chenango County. Being aware of the difficulties hospitals face in all aspects of the healthcare environment, Senator Akshar offered his continued support to UHS Chenango Memorial and reiterated the important role it places in the local area both as a medical provider and an important part of the areas financial stability.

The tour lasted one hour and included stops in many departments and newly renovated areas of the hospital.
