New breast surgeon joins UHS

Dr. O'KellyColleen M. O'Kelly Priddy, MD, is the new breast cancer surgeon at the UHS Breast Center.

Board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, she comes to Greater Binghamton from Pasadena, Calif.

Dr. O'Kelly Priddy received a bachelor's degree in human biology from Stanford University and her medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine.

She completed general surgery training at the University of Washington and was a senior research fellow at the Seattle Children's Research Institute.

Most recently she has been a clinical instructor in surgery and a fellow in oncologic and oncoplastic breast surgery at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

The UHS Breast Center is based at UHS Vestal, 4417 Vestal Parkway East, with surgeries performed at UHS hospital locations in the Southern Tier.

The center offers a complete range of screening, diagnostic, treatment and follow-up services, including mammography, tomosynthesis (three-dimensional, or 3D, mammography), ultrasonography, stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsy, cytopathology, and laboratory services.

The center also offers on-site genetic counseling and lymphedema services.

Dr. O’Kelly Priddy joins general surgeon Michael J. Farrell, MD, and the additional professional staff, which includes on-site radiologists, pathologists including a breast pathologist, a nurse practitioner, a nurse navigator, technologists, genetic counselors and other experts in the early detection of breast cancer.

Mammograms are offered at the center on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 6:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Tuesday, from 6:45 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturday, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
