UHS Sponsors Regional Library System's all New Website

UHS is pleased to be the main sponsor of the Four County Library System’s all new website at  A special feature of the site connects users to the UHS website and information about UHS’s Walk-In Centers in Chenango Bridge, Endicott, Norwich and Vestal.

The new library website is user-friendly.  It includes a new online catalog and many features designed for improved access and convenience when searching for library materials across the region.

The site offers the latest in electronic systems so that patrons can access bestseller lists, create their own reading lists and search the database for a title or author using an enhanced search feature.

The new BookMyne mobile app, available for free at and participating local public libraries, enables library  card holders to locate and reserve books, audio, video and other materials; find the nearest participating library and search the library’s catalog and reserve books.

From ISBN barcode scanning to check a book’s availability to a social recommendation engine powered by Goodreads, the new website will have card holders amazed at the new world of innovative features available by using the Four County Library’s website.  They can even get free downloads for electronic readers as well as downloads of audiobooks and electronic books.   In addition, downloaded items feature automatic return, so borrowers don’t have to worry about overdue items.

The Four County Library System provides consolidated services that help 42 public libraries serve communities in Broome, Chenango, Delaware and Otsego Counties.  “Since UHS serves so many patients in these counties, this is a natural partnership,” stated Christina Boyd, UHS Vice President Community Relations. “Libraries and health care providers and services are essential to a healthy, productive community.  We are happy to provide support for this very worthwhile service.”

UHS is a locally owned, not-for-profit, 916-bed hospital and healthcare system serving Greater Binghamton and surrounding counties.  Founded in 1981, UHS provides a full range of medical, surgical, rehabilitative and long-term care services from more than 60 locations around New York’s Southern Tier.
