Dr. Manish Shah, obstetrician/gynecologist, joins UHS Primary Care in Sidney

Chris Kisacky, Vice President Operations for UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital, has announced that Manish Shah, MD is now providing obstetrics/gynecology services at UHS Primary Care, 44 Pearl Street, in Sidney.  She stated, “Dr. Shah has been working at that site for the past few months as a temporary provider, and his patients have been very happy with his care.  In addition, he has enjoyed practicing there and getting to know the patients and staff.  We believe Dr. Shah is a very good complement to the array of services and providers in the office and we are happy he has accepted our offer to continue to practice there.”

Dr. Shah received his medical training and diploma in gynecology and obstetrics from Gujarat University, Gujarat, India.  He completed residencies in obstetrics and gynecology at East Tennessee University, Johnson City, TN, and Summa Health System, Akron, OH, with High Risk Pregnancy fellowship training in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church, VA.  His experience includes an academic appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Washington, DC.

Dr. Shah and his family plan to live in the area.  He said, he is looking forward to “being part of the community – not just a visitor.  I like it here – this small, tight-knit community has a lot to offer and I am happy that people here are getting top quality health care.  I especially like the variety of services available at our Sidney site, with primary care, pediatrics, specialty care, mammograms, bone densitometry, x-rays and lab services available at one location.  Transportation can be a challenge for people in this area, and having one-stop shopping is helpful.”
